Knowledge19 Doesn’t Have to Be Over

It’s been one month since ServiceNow’s biggest annual user conference, Knowledge. With hundreds of sessions a day we know that most of you didn’t make it to everything that you wanted to. Don’t worry, we didn’t either! But you’re in luck. Not only does ServiceNow upload the presentations for all attendees to access, but we are also sharing all of our presentations with you, whether or not you were able to make it out to Vegas this year.

Serving Our Community Using ServiceNow

At our annual company get-together in 2018, we held a Charity Auction. While it was wildly successful (we raised over 20K with just 100 people), it was managed through paper listings for the various items available for bid, and in the aftermath of the excitement, there was a lot of manual work to be done to collect money, send items, etc.

This year, we pushed ServiceNow into an area it hasn’t gone before by running the 2019 charity auction through ServiceNow’s Service Portal.

In his presentation, James Hamilton discusses the design goals and challenges for creating such a unique application, one that was like anything else he had ever built in ServiceNow.

Performance Analytics in Scoped Applications

Knowledge19 presentation performance analyticsRyan Dinwiddie, one of Acorio’s ServiceNow Architects, has nearly a decade of experience working in the platform and is currently working on some of Acorio’s largest Shared-Services and Global Business Initiative projects. Why has he been put on such large projects? Because when it comes to utilizing Performance Analytics (PA) in the platform, there is no one better.

His K19 presentation showcases his PA expertise, he gives a quick overview of the capabilities in the platform, and then he dives right in and guides you through the use of PA in Scope and building out metrics for a Process within a scoped application.

If you’re just looking for a PA overview, focus on slide six where he builds out a graph explaining relationships between fact tables, indicator sources, scores, breakdown sources, bucket sources, etc.

Titled Decipher Foundations: Translate business requirements into Development, they exposed the power of Custom Apps in the Now Platform. In fact, their presentation was so popular the first time around that they got asked to do it a second time the next day.
